Praise God from Whom All Blessings Flow

Uncategorized Nov 13, 2020

Tom and I went with friends to the Grand Canyon a few weeks ago where I took this picture. When I look at it today, it doesn't seem real.

Truth be told, when I took this picture it didn't seem real either! I was there and I was seeing it, but it was surreal.

f you've ever stood on the south rim of the Grand Canyon and bathed in the view, you know what I'm talking about!

We were meandering along the south rim trail and saw a young woman casually walking toward the edge, she was talking with someone on her cell phone. As she approached her first real good look at the gaping landscape of the Grand Canyon, her eyes filled with tears and I heard her say, "I gotta go...I'll call you back in a bit. This is--this is--" And she just hung up because she didn't have words for what she was seeing.

Have you ever been there?

Perhaps not on the south rim of the Grand Canyon, but where words simply aren't enough to describe what you're experiencing?

A few weeks ago as we hiked in Sedona and the Grand Canyon, we were inundated with moments like that--moments in time where we literally drank in the tremendous beauty of God's majestic work.

Time and time again my spirit sang,

Praise God from Whom all blessings flow...

We felt like we'd found a breach in the curtain that separates earth from heaven and for a few days we were peaking through.

Oh how I wish I could make space for my soul to experience a bit of that kind of wonder on a daily basis.

How might we still and quiet our souls so that we become aware of the "portals" God's given us in our daily lives? Those glimpses of His glory that remind us that

He is God and...

He is good and...

He's got all the we need to thrive.

They are out there, you know.

Simply for your taking.

Those invitations to stand in the flow of the blessings of God are there, and you are here, and their only purpose is to empower you to

overcome...to succeed...to make it...to be victorious!

Praise God from Whom all blessings flow...

OH Lord, I want to position myself in the flow of Your blessings today.

Show me the way--is it to sit a minute and watch the bird splash about in the birdbath outside my window?

Is it in the voice of my granddaughter telling a story or singing a song?

Is it in the eyes of my spouse as they dive deep into my spirit?

Is it in the taste of chocolate? Or the setting sun?

I guarantee that somewhere today, Lord, You are inviting me to step aside and position myself where Your blessings flow.

Don't let me miss it and let Your blessings flow over my head, down my back, to the tip of my toes.

Amen.
